Board of Editors of the Latin American Journal of Nursing (RLAE)
Call for candidates – 2/2017
The Dean of the University of São Paulo at Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing, as the President of the Board of Directors of the Latin American Journal of Nursing - RLAE, publishes the call for candidates to fill out two vacancies as External Associated Editor on the Board of Editors of the journal.
Activities
The activities developed by the Associate Editor consist of collaborating with journal's actions and editorial policy; ensuring the maintenance of the scientific excellence of RLAE; analyzing manuscripts submitted to the evaluation process; ensuring, in view of the perspective of approved articles, the periodicity of RLAE; receiving manuscripts forwarded by the Scientific Editor-in-Chief and to proceed the continuity of the evaluation process within the established deadlines; ensuring the confidentiality in the evaluation of manuscripts submitted for publication; suggesting to the Scientific Editor-in-Chief name of experts to the Board of Advisors; collaborating in disseminating RLAE; monitoring the consultants' review and proposing to the Scientific Editor-in-Chief the continuity or not of the manuscript in the evaluation process from a detailed opinion.
The activity is unpaid and the term in office is four years. The expected workload demand is of, at least, 15 articles/year.
Pre-requisites
Candidates to serve as Associated Editor of RLAE should be researchers, experts in Nursing or Health Sciences, holding at least a Ph.D. degree. They should have recognition of expertise in research and experience in scientific publishing activities (member of Editorial Board/Publishing Committee/Journal Editing Board or have been an Associate Editor) and in the evaluation of scientific articles for scientific journals indexed in major international databases.
Candidates have to be linked to a foreign educational and/or research institution out of Brazil.
Enrollment for External Associated Editor Candidates should register by e-mail to rlae@eerp.usp.br, between July 10th – August 9th 2017.
The following documents should be attached: (1) Registration of Interest, properly completed, signed and digitalized in .pdf; (2) Presentation Letter with a short summary of academic background, research experience, experience in scientific editing or review of scientific papers and motivation for interest, signed and digitalized in . pdf; and (3) Short curriculum with academic education, professional affiliation, funded research projects and list of scientific publications, in . pdf or .doc.
